Aim and Learning objectives

The aim of the “Nutrition, communication and social inclusion” module is for staff members and volunteers in food aid programs to learn more about the impact of communication in their daily work with beneficiaries/households, as well as the importance of identifying and evaluating the different factors that influence healthier and more sustainable dietary habits.

  • Identify and recognise different factors: personal, social, economic, religious, cultural, ethical, environmental, and related to health;
  • Understand how each of these factors can influence dietary habits;
  • Identify barriers to healthful food preparation;
  • Understand the importance of food literacy;
  • Identify and apply good practices;
  • Understand communication as a driver to food literacy;
  • Understand how to practise sustainable eating;
  • Understand how to reach people who don’t want to use help;
  • Identify and recognise the impact of volunteering and community involvement.
