How to use dark bananas


  • 3 ripe bananas (they can be dark and ripe)
  • 1 ½ cups of wheat flour or any other type, e.g., whole wheat, oat, or spelt flour
  • ½ cup of brown sugar (white granulated sugar can also be used)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
  • 100g of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • A pinch of salt flakes or medium-grain salt

  1. In a bowl, mix together the egg, melted butter, vanilla sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until the ingredients are well combined.
  2. Peel and mash the bananas with a fork, then add them to the mixture. Add baking powder and flour, and mix everything thoroughly. Optionally, you can add a pinch of salt towards the end of mixing – it’s important for the salt not to dissolve but remain in its original form.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased baking tin. Bake in an oven preheated to 170°C (approximately 340°F) for about 35-45 minutes, depending on the size of the tin.
