The Sustainable food systems and the role of supply chains module was developed by the ISEKI-Food Association, in Austria.
Welcome to the Sustainable Food Systems and the Role of Supply Chains module.
This module gives students the opportunity to learn about the different definitions of food supply chains starting from local and small, to large food supply chains, and where the difference lies with sustainable food supply chains. The module covers sustainable food supply chain design and all that it entails, as well as external aspects including but not limited to food waste, packaging, and transportation within the sustainable supply chain. The module also explains the importance of local and seasonal foods, and the role that this system plays in sustainability planning and supply chains.
